
With 1,000 patients coming to the Hospital every day and about 1500 admitted
Patients, we required a place where seriously ill patients could be looked after in an intensive care setup. Therefore, a Chest ICU was established in 1995.
This nineteen -bedded Chest ICU is comprehensively equipped to deal with seriously ill patients of pulmonary diseases and emergencies.
Lala Lajpat Rai was a well known figure in the political and social circles of pre¬-Independence India. His mother, Gulab Devi, died of TB in Lahore. In order to perpetuate her memory, Lala Lajpat Rai established a Trust in 1927 to build and run a TB Hospital for women reportedly at the spot where she had breathed her last.
