The General Surgery Department at Gulab Devi Teaching Hospital Lahore is a fully equipped surgical unit, delivering a wide range of open and advanced laparoscopic procedures, tumor surgeries, and 24/7 emergency and trauma care. The department is staffed by experienced general surgeons providing safe and effective surgical care.
The department runs a busy OPD six days a week, supported by two fully functional operation theatres, a Surgical ICU, and modern laparoscopic units, enabling both routine and complex surgeries under one roof. The department manages a wide range of surgical conditions including hernia, gallstones, appendicitis, gastrointestinal disorders, soft tissue infections, and abdominal emergencies. In 2025, a dedicated Breast Clinic was established to provide focused and dignified care for women with breast-related conditions, operating six days a week.
In addition to patient care, the department serves as an accredited postgraduate training center, collaborating with CPSP and UHS Lahore, to develop skilled surgeons while maintaining high clinical standards. Through continuous service expansion, round-the-clock emergency readiness and structured training, the General Surgery Department remains a cornerstone of general and emergency surgical services.
