Every day, thousands of patients arrive at Gulab Devi Teaching Hospital’s Out-Patients Department seeking care they cannot afford elsewhere.
Over the past year, more than 415,000 people have passed through these clinics, seeking careful listening, informed decisions, and treatment guided by decades of medical practice. With over 25 specialized departments working side by side, emergencies are handled immediately, while others receive clear guidance, follow-up, and continuity of care.
Consultation in the OPD is provided free of cost, allowing patients to be examined without fear of financial burden. Emergency cases are immediately shifted for urgent care, while those requiring admission are managed according to medical priority. Others receive outpatient or home-based treatment, ensuring that no patient is turned away.
This constant flow of patients reflects the reality we serve — people who arrive with illness, anxiety, and hope. The OPD runs day after day because of the support of donors who help cover investigations, medicines, and essential services.
At Gulab Devi Teaching Hospital, care extends beyond medicine to the very meals patients and their families receive. Every patient is provided fresh, wholesome meals at their bedside three times a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner, completely free of cost.
For the family members and attendants who stay by their loved ones, the Dastarkhwaan offers a warm, shared space to eat together, providing comfort and respite during difficult times.
