The Cardiology Department, Gulab Devi Hospital, Lahore/Al-Aleem Medical College was established in 1983. At that time the department was primitive and only clinical cardiology was being practiced. 

Currently the Cardiology Department comprises 150 beds and all the modern cardiac facilities. Cardiology Department includes a cardiac emergency operating round the clock, a well-equipped ICU and CCU, a cardiology ward, ETT Department, echocardiography, a fully functional cardiac catheterization lab performing primary PCI 24/7 and CME for education and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students. In Cath Lab we deal with coronary angiographies and angioplasties (including primary PCI), complex coronary interventions including CTOs and Rota Ablation, valvular interventions including Trans-Catheter Aortic Valve Implantation, Percutaneous Mitral Balloon Valvotomy, Aortic Valvuloplasty and Pulmonary Valvuloplasty, device closure including ASD VSD and PDA device closure, complex structural intervention including Coarctation of Aorta Intervention, Peripheral Interventions and peripheral arterial embolizations including Uterine Artery Embolization, Bronchial Artery Embolization and Acetabular Artery Embolization.

In the Out-Patient Department we have Echocardiography Department, ETT Department under the supervision of experienced doctors. Echocardiography is carried out daily to help diagnose various cardiac problems like valvular heart diseases, congenital heart diseases and other myocardial and vascular diseases. The lab is equipped with a sophisticated echo machine having doppler color flow imaging facility and trans-esophageal probe. In emergencies we deal with all sorts of cardiac emergencies including Acute Coronary Syndrome, Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, Heart Block, Cardiogenic Shock and Pulmonary Edema.

Since its inception, the Cardiology Department, Al-Aleem Medical College/Gulab Devi Hospital, Lahore has trained a large number of Cardiologists who are serving in Pakistan and abroad.
