Introduction

Founded in 2013, the Internal Medicine Department was created to address the growing need for specialized adult medical care within the hospital’s expanding services. This development aligned with Gulab Devi Hospital’s evolution into a 1,500-bed tertiary care facility, renowned for its focus on cardiopulmonary diseases and its dedication to serving underprivileged populations. The department operates two medical units, each led by a professor and supported by a skilled team. It offers a comprehensive range of services.

Since its inception, the department has achieved several notable milestones.

Accreditation for Specialized Training

  • Recognized by CPSP for FCPS training in General Medicine and affiliated with UHS for postgraduate programs.

Community Engagement

  • Conducted numerous health awareness seminars and walks, emphasizing preventive care and early detection of diseases.

Research Contributions

  • Published research findings in reputable medical journals, enhancing the department’s academic reputation.

Crisis Management

  • Demonstrated exemplary service during health crises, such as providing continuous care during dengue outbreaks.
