The Department of Dermatology at Gulab Devi Teaching Hospital and Al-Aleem Medical College, Lahore successfully conducted a pre-conference workshop titled “Dermatology: The Art and Science Beneath – A Dermatopathology Viewpoint” under the umbrella of MAGCON 2026, in collaboration with the Department of Pathology. The workshop received an overwhelming response from participants, reflecting strong interest in this important and evolving subspecialty.
Dermatopathology serves as a vital link between clinical dermatology and microscopic diagnosis. A clear understanding of skin histopathology enables dermatologists and pathologists to reach accurate diagnoses and guide effective patient management. Keeping this in view, the workshop was designed to simplify key concepts in dermatopathology and enhance diagnostic confidence through practical, hands-on learning.
The workshop featured concise and focused talks delivered by experienced faculty, ensuring clarity of concepts without overwhelming the participants. This was followed by an interactive slide session, encouraging active engagement and discussion among attendees. A major highlight of the workshop was the hands-on experience, where participants had the opportunity to examine and identify histopathological slides under the microscope, reinforcing their learning in a practical setting.
The session concluded with certificate distribution, and participants shared highly positive feedback, appreciating the interactive format and practical approach of the workshop. The event successfully highlighted the importance of integrating clinical and pathological knowledge in dermatology and reinforced the role of structured, skills-based learning in medical education.
