A workshop titled “Evolution of Inhaled Therapies: From Better Devices to Better Reach” was conducted as part of MAGCON 2026. The session focused on advancing the understanding of modern inhalation therapies and optimizing their clinical effectiveness through improved device usage and patient-centered approaches.
The workshop covered several key aspects essential for effective respiratory care. Participants were introduced to important concepts such as inspiratory flow, breath actuation, and inhalation counters, highlighting how these factors directly influence patient confidence, adherence, and overall therapeutic outcomes. The session also emphasized the concept of solution-based Metered Dose Inhalers (MDIs) and their role in enhancing drug delivery.
A significant portion of the workshop was dedicated to explaining particle size dynamics, with a special focus on small airway disease. The importance of extrafine particles in achieving better drug deposition and improved clinical outcomes was discussed in detail, helping participants better understand their impact in respiratory management.
The workshop also included practical guidance on correct inhaler techniques across various devices. Emphasis was placed on ease of use and patient convenience, particularly in relation to Chiesi inhaled therapies, ensuring that participants gained both theoretical knowledge and practical insights.
The session was well-received by all participants, who appreciated the relevance and depth of the content. They expressed keen interest in attending more such updated and clinically focused workshops in the future, highlighting the importance of continuous learning in improving patient care.
